Attend our FREE 2-hour introductory workshop for prospective homebuyers and learn about:
 
- Steps in the homebuying process.
- Credit, budgeting, and mortgage financing options.
- Programs for first-time homebuyers.
- How to avoid scams and protect yourself
Whether you are actively looking to take advantage of today's historic low interest rates and purchase a home soon or are beginning to make longer-term plans, this is a great place to start. In addition to this workshop, we also offer a follow-up one-day workshop to help you achieve the goal of homeownership. Complete both and receive a homebuyer education certificate of completion and a 240-page homebuyer guide. The certificate is accepted by lender and homebuyer programs requiring pre-purhcase homebuyer education. (You must complete both sessions within 90 days).
 
In addition, Lakeside's counseling staff is ready to work with you to develop a home purchase plan. Your home purchase plan identifies specific steps you will need to take to achieve your home ownership goals on a timetable that fits your situation. We will help you develop a budget, review your credit, assemble a home purchase team, and more.
 
Group education is often offered at costs ranging from $75-$250 and more. Lakeside is able to offer each session for $25 thanks to the program support of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and private donors.
